Hotel Around Takayama, Ascend Hotel Collection is super modern and comfy! The twin room was a cozy retreat with soundproofing, and I loved the convenience of having a washing machine nearby. The location is perfect, right beside the bus terminal and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Plus, the staff were incredibly nice, making my stay even better!

Right off the bat, the folks were just so kind, helpin' me through the check-in and makin' me feel right at home. The onsen? Heck, I soaked in there more times than I can count. Room was spacious with good quality everything, and the location was perfect, just a hop from the bus station. Really celebrated those tatami mats!

the check-in process is abosultey ridiculous. they wouldn’t even let us do the paperwork before 3:00 pm. how do you run a hotel like that? and don’t get me started on the dirty room, I was shocked. with all the hype it's a shame I didn’t recieve any special treatment. I almost wanted to give a good review, but just couldn’t.

The noise from the lounge above my room was unbearable, especially during the evenings. It sounded like furniture was being moved or even people running around, which was incredibly frustrating. Although I enjoyed my stay otherwise, this issue severely impacted my experience at the hotel.

Immaculate room and inviting onsen experience.

We had a king room with a sofa and a mountain view for three nights. The communal baths were lovely, and Takayama's historic quarter is a must-see. We also took a day trip to the Hida Folk Village. It's fascinating! The room was spacious, perfect for unwinding after sightseeing. 😊

Super friendly staff and great breakfast choices. Perfect spot right near the train station, making it easy to explore. Housekeeping was on point. just wish the room had been cleaner upon arrival.

We loved our stay! The mountain view from our room was incredible and made chilling out after the day super relaxing. The free breakfast had a bunch of tasty options, but I wish they had a few more choices. Also, watch out for the tricky parking situation. it’s kinda tight. Overall, definitely a keeper!

Welcoming hotel, excellent amenities, with a fantastic onsen experience that included both public baths and private options to unwind after exploring the city which is conveniently just a short walk from the bus and train station.
